Entering his first season at Grace University and third as a collegiate head coach, DJ Gunderson brings championship vision, structure, and a relentless competitive edge to the Talons Baseball program.

 

Gunderson arrives at Grace following two seasons leading the program at Nobel University, where he guided the team through its inaugural campaign and laid the foundation for long-term success. Known for his ability to build from the ground up, he now turns his focus to establishing Grace Baseball as a disciplined, high-performance program with a clear identity and championship trajectory.

 

In addition to leading the baseball program, Gunderson will serve as Compliance Director for Grace University Athletics, overseeing eligibility, academic standards, and institutional compliance. His detail-oriented approach and integrity-driven leadership ensure that student-athletes are positioned for success both on the field and in the classroom.

 

A former collegiate student-athlete at Bethesda University, Gunderson understands the demands of competing at the college level and brings that experience into his coaching philosophy. He has also built a strong reputation throughout the Southern California baseball community through his work in the youth and club ranks, establishing valuable recruiting pipelines and relationships.

 

Gunderson is widely respected for his player-first culture, emphasis on accountability, and commitment to developing complete student-athletes. His programs are defined by toughness, discipline, and professionalism—core values that align with the mission of Grace University Athletics.

 

Off the field, Gunderson is married and resides in Irvine.

 

With a strong foundation and a clear vision in place, Coach Gunderson is set to lead Grace University Baseball into a new era of growth and competitive excellence.
